The Different Types of Brow Lifts

Brow Lift Alderley Edge

Aging can dramatically reduce your confidence. However, getting a brow lift in Alderley Edge with our team of professionals can boost your confidence. If you’re thinking about getting a brow lift in Manchester or Alderley Edge, the first question you have to answer is which type of brow lift do you want?

You want to look great for as long as you can, and a simple surgery like a brow lift can improve your appearance by leaps and bounds. It can reduce the signs of aging that creep up on your forehead and eyebrows. Depending on where your signs of aging are, a different procedure might be necessary.

Let’s look at what your options are.

Traditional

A traditional brow lift surgery is basic and involves making a long incision on the top of your head just under your hairline. After the incision is made, the surgeon lifts the skin away and maneuvers the muscles and fat underneath your skin.

Sometimes this requires the surgeon to trim extra muscle and fat, and sometimes even skin to create a smoother appearance in the brow of your face. Once this process is complete, your surgeon will close the incision.

In most cases, a traditional brow lift is recommended for individuals who are more advanced in the aging process.  If your brows sag over your eyes it’s time for a traditional brow lift.

Limited

If you have minimal signs of aging, then a limited incision might be a better option. While it is similar to the previously mentioned traditional brow lift, the limited version a surgeon will use two smaller incisions instead of one across the top. The incisions are typically on or near the temples. Once they make the incisions they’ll do the same by removing extra fat and skin via the incisions.

However, because the incisions are smaller, your surgeon will tend to work longer to get the same result. It also might not be right for you if you have quite a bit of looseness under the brow area of your face.

The procedure is really only used for sagging on the ends of your brows and doesn’t ease lines or wrinkles on the center of your forehead. Men and older individuals typically request this type of procedure to avoid incision lines they have to cover up.

Endoscopic Surgery

Similar to the limited incision lift, the incisions are made incredibly small and heal without any serious scaring. The procedure involves using an endoscope (AKA a tiny camera) guides the surgeon to the area where the surgery needs to happen.

Once the surgery starts the surgeon accesses a small tool kit that she uses to smooth your brow. The skin is never lifted, which allows the tissues to hold their position. The scope is removed from the fat and skin are removed and then the incisions are closed.

Clearly, this is a minimally invasive brow lift option. However, there is one caveat, the results of this type of brow lift are not permanent. They also don’t produce the most amazing results either.

Injectables

Another option if you’re looking for a brow lift in Manchester is injectables. Of course, choosing this option would be dependent on what your forehead looks like now. If you have a few simple lines on your brow, then you might not need a surgery. Instead, injectables like Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport could be a better option for you.

These injectables use ingredients that keep your nerves from communicating with the muscles that create frown lines on your forehead, which creates a smoother appearance. In contrast with surgery, the injectables don’t last as long. Most often they only last a few months. So keep that in mind as well.

Facing Recovery

The different brow lift options available to you produce different results. Depending on the complexity of your surgery, one might be better than the next. Speaking to your surgeon is the best way to figure out which one is right for you. However, keep in mind the recovery. You’ll be advised to keep a cold compress on your skin, and you’ll also want to prop yourself up in bed while you sleep.
