Most people work hard all year round in order to look their best in summer. This might mean they adjust what they are eating and drinking or put more hours in at the gym. For other people, it may mean scheduling in some liposuction or booking in a breast enhancement so that their body is healed and ready for beach season. We see a rise in the number of people booking in for botox Stockport in the summer months as well, as it is a method of beautification that does not need months of preparation. This is one reason why Botox is a perfect summer treatment, as are the following:

Prevents summer squint lines

A lot of people would agree that a good summer consists of sunlight and water, but the combination of these two results in a lot of squinting. Squinting is bad for the eyes because excessive squinting can cause crow’s feet – which are the fine lines that radiate out from the corner of the eye. Botox not only eliminates these lines but can also prevent their appearance as well – as long as you remember to wear your sunglasses and not squint

Is minimally invasive and requires no recuperation time

If you’re anything like us, your summer calendar is packed full of fun activities for you and your family. So, the last thing you want is a beauty procedure that is going to take you a long time to recover from. The great thing about botox Wilmslow is that it is minimally invasive and does not require much downtime and so it won’t affect your plans. It is best to avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 48 hours after the injection, but other than that your plans shouldn’t need to be affected at all.

Don’t need to keep out of the sun

Some cosmetic procedures, such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion, require that you keep out of the sun for a period of time, which could be as long as a few weeks. This is a huge problem in the summer when the majority of the fun events will take place outside in the sunshine. Botox is a great way to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles on your face, without having to avoid the sun for a lengthy period of time. It is always best to wear sun cream though, whatever cosmetic procedure you have had.

Keeps you looking young

Whatever your summer plans, be it cocktails on the beach, a cultured city break, or even a family road trip, we understand that you want to look your best while you are enjoying it. Botox lets you look more youthful while without having to clear your calendar or use up a holiday. It may take up to two weeks to see peak results though, so the sooner you have your first injection the better and then you can look youthful and refreshed all summer long.

At Cheadle Facial Aesthetics we are dedicated to helping our clients look their best and feel great about how they look. For a free botox hale consultation call us today on 0161 485 7376.

Botox for Wedding Season

by on July 9, 2018 | Posted in blog

Summer is fast approaching which can only mean one thing – it’s wedding season.  Many couples get engaged each year, and summer is always a popular time to tie the knot. This is probably because, despite the fact that the weather in the UK is not the most predictable, you are more likely to have a warmer and sunnier day in the summer months than you are in autumn/winter.  This popularity of the summer season for weddings, also means that we see a rise in the number of people having botox as well as everyone wants to look their best for the big day. Some people spend hundreds and thousands on beauty products and non-invasive surgery in the run-up to the big day in an attempt to look as flawless as possible.

There is a lot of pressure to look perfect at your wedding because the pictures will stay with you forever, and so it is important that you like how you look and feel confident in your skin. Botox is just one way for you to feel good on your day.

How Long Before the Wedding?

One question we get asked a lot is how long before the wedding should I get my first set of botox injections and we would usually recommend at least a month. This is because although Botox is a safe treatment it is always best to do a bit of a practice run – especially if you have never had it before. It can take between 7 and 14 days for the results of your first Botox injection to show up which is why we recommend a month before. We also recommend that you avoid extreme changes in temperature and alcohol for the first 48 hours after the procedure – so you need to take this into account when you are booking your injections and your hen or stag do.

Are there any side effects?

The injections you have with Botox are normally pretty painless but you may experience mild pain or some tingling during the process. There may also be some slight swelling afterward, but this should reduce within 30 minutes. Very occasionally some people experience mild bruising the day after, and although this is very uncommon it is one of the reasons we suggest you have the first injection a month in advance of your wedding day.

Where can I have botox?

Botox works well on areas of the face where there is muscle – so your forehead, frown lines and eye wrinkles. On your wedding day, you may experience a wide range of deep emotions which will show on your face. If you have deep lines on your forehead or crow’s feet in the corners of your eyes, then Botox will help to get rid of these before your special day.

There will probably come a time in your life when you look in the mirror and decide that you might need a little touch up here and there. But, you may be wondering if botox Alderley Edge is the right answer for you. We quite often get asked lots of questions about our procedures, and the most common one is what is botox? If you have been reading our other blogs, you will know that botox is a neurotoxin that is injected into the face to ease the signs of wrinkles – and it is one of the most common non-surgical facial treatments offered in the UK.

Here are some of the other common questions we get asked:

What makes the best candidate for botox?

Botox is best used as a preventative measure once you have seen the sign of wrinkles starting to prevent them from developing further. Therefore, the best candidate for botox is someone who only has a small number of lines on their face and is wanting to prevent more. It is also a great option for someone who doesn’t want more invasive surgery. If your wrinkles are already deep-set then you may be better with dermal fillers Alderley edge to help plump them up and ease them slightly.

Is there anyone who should avoid botox?

Botox is probably best avoided by those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are taking any medication, dietary supplements or have an illness such as asthma or diabetes then you need to let your aesthetician know as well. If you have the treatment and you have not revealed any illness that you have, then you may suffer from unpleasant side effects – it is always best to be open and honest and then we can give you the best advice.

How long does it take to recover from the botox injections?

Botox is a non-invasive surgery and so it usually doesn’t require any serious recovery time. Your face may swell slightly or show small signs of bruising but these will probably go down within a few hours. It is probably best to stay away from alcohol for a couple of days before your injection and to aid the healing process you should avoid both aspirin and ibuprofen for a week.

Will I be able to see the effects straightaway?

You probably won’t be able to see an immediate effect no, but the more injections you have the better the results will be. So, the second time you have the injections you will see results more quickly, and so on.

How long do the results of Botox last?

As you can probably imagine, it is different for every person, but in general, we would expect botox to last between 3 and 6 months. Remember, the more treatments you have, the better the results as Botox is a long-term strategy to help prevent the appearance of wrinkles by training the muscles not to move in a way which forms lines.

Chances are you have probably heard of botox treatment, the miraculous “cure” for fine lines and wrinkles that everyone is talking about. But how does it work, how long does it last, and what exactly can it be used for?

What is Botox?

Similar to dermal fillers, Botox is the name for a substance that is injected into skin. It is known to have an inhibiting effect on muscle movement, and so can help to stop fine lines and wrinkles from forming or from getting worse than they are.  The term Botox actually comes from the word ‘Botulous’ which means sausage! I know that doesn’t sound that glamorous but it is because the substance we use today is related to a naturally occurring poison which can sometimes be found in meat products that have gone off. Stick with us, it’s worth it we promise!

What is Botox used for?

Botox is probably best well-known for its youthful properties, preventing fine lines from worsening and helping to give the face a youthful appearance. However, it also has some less well known uses as well – did you know, for example, that it can be injected into the armpits to help stop excessive sweating?

How does Botox work?

When Botox is used in the face for cosmetic reasons, it blocks the nerve signals to certain muscles which relaxes them, and this in turn helps to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the skin.

What does the treatment involve?

Again, it is a series of injections to the face, and so it usually takes around 35 to 45 minutes. You may experience some slight bruising or swelling after treatment, but this should go down within 24 hours and in the meantime can be disguised with make-up.

Who should have this treatment?

This treatment is ideal for a wide variety of patients, especially those with fine lines and wrinkles. It can be really useful in improving the look of crow’s feet and frown lines for a period of time, but it will need to be topped up regularly to ensure a consistent result.

How long does Botox last?

Botox has a freezing effect on muscles that tends to last between 4 to 6 months. After the treatment you should be able to see results within an hour, with the main result being visible after about a week.

Are you thinking about getting Botox injections? If so, you have likely run across several misconceptions about Botox and how it works on your body.

Botox is one of the most commonly misunderstood aesthetic enhancing tools we use. Aside from Botox cost, we frequently get asked about the following 5 myths and how they relate to the process.

Whether you want to improve your brow-line, reduce fine-lines, or simply relax muscles in your face, we hope this information soothes your concerns and gets you into our office soon.

Myth #1. When you stop treatments, your wrinkles worsen.

False!

If you stop Botox treatments your skin will go back to its previous condition. Botox prevents your wrinkles from worsening during your treatments, but it does not do this permanently. You must continue treatments to see the results you desire.

The process does take a while, however. After you stop your treatments, your skin will lose the relaxing effect of the Botox and go back to normal movement. However, this does not make your wrinkles worse. Although it might feel that way since you aren’t used to seeing your skin look the way it once did.

Ultimately this myth is a testament to how well Botox works.

Myth #2. You can’t smile after Botox injections.

False!

Botox injections are a treatment designed to enhance your appearance, not scar it.

Under proper supervision and given by a qualified professional, Botox makes your smile look that much better. It relaxes the muscle beneath the lines of your face and allows the rest of your face to appear normal. There is no negative effect on your sensory nerves and you won’t lose the sensation of the muscles in your face.

For more information about the intricacies of this process, see this article from Medicinenet.

Myth #3. There is only one type of Botox.

False!

There are in fact, two types of Botox. The first is used to treat serious medical conditions like migraines, excessive sweating, shoulder and neck spasms, and crossed eyes. The other is used for aesthetic purposes only.
Botox Cosmetic is used for the aesthetics enhancement while traditional Botox is used to treat medical conditions.

Both are used in differing dosages and should not be confused with one another.

We can walk you through the basics of these two types of Botox treatments and what they entail if you contact us today.

Myth #4. Botox injections are painful.

False!

Once again, if administered properly, there is very little pain associated with Botox injections. The process is incredibly quick, even quicker than getting your shots from the doctor.

Additionally, we use a very fine needle to insert the medication into your skin which reduces pain further still. You won’t need any anesthesia to be pain-free, either.

If you hire a highly skilled, professional, and trained aesthetician to perform your Botox injections you shouldn’t experience much pain at all.

Curious about this treatment? Contact our office and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process.

Myth #5. Botox costs are too much for the average person.

False!

The costs of Botox treatments come down to how much product is required to achieve the best possible results.

At Cheadle Facial Aesthetics, we strive to ensure that we use the least amount possible to get your desired look.

If you are comfortable simply reducing fine lines, you likely won’t need a heavy dosage like someone who wants to eliminate all signs of wrinkles on their face.

Prices vary, but it doesn’t have to be beyond your budget.

Myth #5. Botox is a filler.

False!

Botox is a totally different medical treatment than fillers. Botox targets your facial muscles, while a filler fills the lines below the surface of your skin. They give volume to your skin in places where it is needed, while Botox simply relaxes the muscles causing your skin to wrinkle. Both are effective, but definitely not the same treatment.

Summary

Ready to improve your appearance with Botox injections? If you need more information about how they work, what to expect when you get them, what the results of Botox are or have any other questions, we would be happy to answer your questions.

Facial aesthetics are a revolutionary part of the beauty industry. More than just beauty treatments, facial aesthetics can reverse skin damage and help repair scars. If you’re more into the beauty aspects of what they can do for you, then you’ll love today’s post.

At Cheadle Facial Aesthetics, we’re passionate about helping folks get the beauty care they’re looking for. We offer a wide range of services including Dermal Fillers and Botox in Manchester.

Curious about what happens when you sign up for one of these treatments? Then come with us as we explore each of our two most popular services and what you can expect.

Botox

Botox treatment involves a substance called Clostridium Botulinum. It is found throughout nature, and when even tiny amounts are injected into the skin with a fine needle the nerve cell signals are prevented from reaching the muscles. As a result, the muscles are unable to tense up, causing an instant relaxation effect.

While much has been written about Botox, it’s actually one of the safest Facial Aesthetics treatments available. Still not convinced? Then check out these peer-reviewed studies about the substance and its safety.

As with any medical treatment, there is some risk involved, but if you’ve been given the all clear from your doctor the treatment should be just fine.

What It Can Treat

Botox can treat a variety of issues. Some of the most common include:

  • – Wrinkles and Fine Lines
  • – Chronic Pain
  • – Sweating
  • – Overactive Bladder
  • – Migraines
  • – Eye Treatments

In our clinic, clients typically are looking to reduce the signs of aging such as wrinkles. We administer botox regularly to such clients.

What to Expect From Your Treatment

Botox injections are fairly pain-free, with a slight stinging of the needle. The procedure is out-patient, and the downtime is minimal. There may be some swelling at the site of your injection, but if the swelling doesn’t go down within 2 weeks you should come in to see us or your practitioner.

How Long Results Last

How long each treatment lasts varies from person to person. For first time patients, results typically last up to three months but can last longer. You’ll need to come back in to see us once you notice the treatment is wearing off.

Overall, Botox is one of our most prized treatments and can be used in various parts of your body. No matter where you experience wrinkles, fine lines, crow’s feet, or frown lines Botox can reverse the effects and give you a youthful appearance.

Dermal Fillers

Are you thinking about using Dermal Fillers to reverse the signs of aging? If so, you’re in good company. We offer the highest quality dermal fillers in Manchester all of which are designed to make your skin and appearance more youthful.

Dermal Fillers contain various ingredients, but most are hyaluronic acid based. This ingredient is naturally occurring and is a sugar chain molecule that binds water in the skin, creating a plumper, more attractive look.

What They Treat

Dermal Fillers are typically used to create a more youthful appearance, but here is the full range of uses for injectables.

  • – Fine Lines
  • – Frown Lines
  • – Lip Enhancement
  • – Recessed Scar treatment

What to Expect From Treatment

Dermal Filler injections are done in the office and are non-surgical. You’ll meet with one of our facial aesthetics experts to discuss your treatment first. Once the treatment is agreed upon with your doctor, the next step is cleaning the area and adding a topical numbing solution to prevent any pain from the process. Then the practitioner will inject the filler to the exact area where the filler is needed. The filler will go under the skin and fill up the surrounding area, creating a fuller look and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

You may experience some light bruising and swelling at the site of the injection, but you should be able to go right back to your normal activities after your treatment. These injections and Dermal fillers in Manchester are extremely convenient and produce long-lasting results. Speaking of which…

How Long Results Last

Results typically last from 6 to 18 months. Which is obviously much longer than Botox. Many patients prefer Dermal Fillers to Botox in Manchester for this exact reason.
