Should You Have A Brow Lift?

by on September 24, 2018 | Posted in blog, services

One of our most popular treatments is the brow lift, and it seems to have really become popular in recent months. This is probably due to the fact that a lot of the beauty looks that are popular at the moment focus on the brow area – and if you have wrinkles here then this can really let you down.

The brow lift is sometimes known as eyebrow repositioning, will not only help with wrinkles in the eyebrow area but it can also offer you the opportunity to subtly change your eyebrow shape too – if you so desire.

How does a brow lift work?

Whenever you have a treatment that involves Botox you should know that Botox works by paralysing the muscles it is injected into. Wherever you have muscles on your face, there is a balancing act between them pushing and pulling – in the eye area the forehead muscles push the brows upwards and the frown and eye muscles pull the brows down. During a brow lift Alderley edge the Botox is injected into certain points on the brow to weaken specific points so that the brow lifts or drops in the area that we want it to.

How accurate are Botox brow lifts?

Before we start injecting you with anything, we will take a close look at your face and determine the exact points on your brow that we need to inject the Botox into, and how much Botox we need to use depends on how strong your brow muscles are. We will then make sure that any Botox we do inject helps to soften your look in a natural way.

How long do Botox brow injections last?

It depends on the individual but most Botox injections tend to last between three to six months.

Are there any side effects?

As with any cosmetic procedure, there are always potential side effects with the most common being a harsh unnatural end look caused by incorrect dosage of Botox used, or it is injected into the wrong places. Of course, things like this don’t happen at Cheadle Facial Aesthetics as we are highly trained professionals with years of experience.

The Different Types of Brow Lifts

by on March 19, 2018 | Posted in blog

Aging can dramatically reduce your confidence. However, getting a brow lift in Alderley Edge with our team of professionals can boost your confidence. If you’re thinking about getting a brow lift in Manchester or Alderley Edge, the first question you have to answer is which type of brow lift do you want?

You want to look great for as long as you can, and a simple surgery like a brow lift can improve your appearance by leaps and bounds. It can reduce the signs of aging that creep up on your forehead and eyebrows. Depending on where your signs of aging are, a different procedure might be necessary.

Let’s look at what your options are.

Traditional

A traditional brow lift surgery is basic and involves making a long incision on the top of your head just under your hairline. After the incision is made, the surgeon lifts the skin away and maneuvers the muscles and fat underneath your skin.

Sometimes this requires the surgeon to trim extra muscle and fat, and sometimes even skin to create a smoother appearance in the brow of your face. Once this process is complete, your surgeon will close the incision.

In most cases, a traditional brow lift is recommended for individuals who are more advanced in the aging process.  If your brows sag over your eyes it’s time for a traditional brow lift.

Limited

If you have minimal signs of aging, then a limited incision might be a better option. While it is similar to the previously mentioned traditional brow lift, the limited version a surgeon will use two smaller incisions instead of one across the top. The incisions are typically on or near the temples. Once they make the incisions they’ll do the same by removing extra fat and skin via the incisions.

However, because the incisions are smaller, your surgeon will tend to work longer to get the same result. It also might not be right for you if you have quite a bit of looseness under the brow area of your face.

The procedure is really only used for sagging on the ends of your brows and doesn’t ease lines or wrinkles on the center of your forehead. Men and older individuals typically request this type of procedure to avoid incision lines they have to cover up.

Endoscopic Surgery

Similar to the limited incision lift, the incisions are made incredibly small and heal without any serious scaring. The procedure involves using an endoscope (AKA a tiny camera) guides the surgeon to the area where the surgery needs to happen.

Once the surgery starts the surgeon accesses a small tool kit that she uses to smooth your brow. The skin is never lifted, which allows the tissues to hold their position. The scope is removed from the fat and skin are removed and then the incisions are closed.

Clearly, this is a minimally invasive brow lift option. However, there is one caveat, the results of this type of brow lift are not permanent. They also don’t produce the most amazing results either.

Injectables

Another option if you’re looking for a brow lift in Manchester is injectables. Of course, choosing this option would be dependent on what your forehead looks like now. If you have a few simple lines on your brow, then you might not need a surgery. Instead, injectables like Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport could be a better option for you.

These injectables use ingredients that keep your nerves from communicating with the muscles that create frown lines on your forehead, which creates a smoother appearance. In contrast with surgery, the injectables don’t last as long. Most often they only last a few months. So keep that in mind as well.

Facing Recovery

The different brow lift options available to you produce different results. Depending on the complexity of your surgery, one might be better than the next. Speaking to your surgeon is the best way to figure out which one is right for you. However, keep in mind the recovery. You’ll be advised to keep a cold compress on your skin, and you’ll also want to prop yourself up in bed while you sleep.

Even as little as two decades ago if someone suggested that you visit the dentist for a brow lift in Manchester or treatment for various other facial aesthetics in Manchester, you probably would have laughed at them. However with the increase in cosmetic dentistry, more and more dentists are turning to facial aesthetics to create a complete look that enhances the smile.

This means that in 2016, should you need a brow lift, lip fillers, or a course of Botox, Cheadle Hulme residents can call into our state-of-the-art Church Road dental practice and combine this with a scale and polish for their teeth, all under one roof. While this is obviously convenient, the question remains…. how exactly does this fit into dentistry?

The bottom line is that aesthetic dentistry doesn’t just start and finish with the lips. Instead perfect teeth still need to fit into the framework of the face. While an exquisite occlusion and gleaming white teeth are a good start, if they’re framed by a face that’s showing signs of age then it detracts  from the effect that the dentist is trying to achieve. For this reason dermal fillers, brow lifts, and Botox can all be used to give a more youthful look.

In addition dentists have a good working knowledge of the anatomy of the head and neck, including all the nerves, blood vessels, and facial muscles that make up the face. Add to this the fact that dentists already deliver hundreds of injections every year and have vast experience and familiarity with the technique, means that they are ideal candidates to provide lip enhancements, wrinkle reduction, and much more.

BROW LIFT MANCHESTER

by on August 25, 2016 | Posted in services

As we age we may experience a mild to moderate heaviness in the brow area. This causes sagging eye brows. One answer of course is cosmetic surgery in the form of a brow lift, but what if you don’t want to undergo such an invasive procedure? You might want to consider an eyebrow lift using Botox. Also known as the ‘brow arch’ procedure, carefully placed injections cause the brow to elevate, improving the positioning of the eyebrows and enhancing the eyes.

So how does a brow lift in Manchester work?

Carefully controlled amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into the muscles above the eye area that pull the brows down. When this happens it relaxes them. As it does so the function of the opposing muscle which pulls the brows up is enhanced, thus naturally lifting the brows. In addition the botulinum toxin can also smooth away deep frown lines located in the forehead area giving an all-round younger, rejuvenated appearance. The treatment is far less invasive than cosmetic brow lift surgery, and brow lift cost using Botox is ultimately cheaper. In essence it’s an instant, cost effective solution for those looking to keep the signs of ageing at bay.

Is botulinum toxin safe?

Botulinum toxin is derived from a protein found naturally in the environment. When injected into the skin it has the ability to relax muscles by blocking the nerve impulses to those nerves. As a result it reduces muscle activity that causes facial movement lines and wrinkles. The cosmetic effects of botulinum toxin were first documented in 1989 and by 2002 it was approved for use in the UK. Now it’s regularly and safely used in millions of non-surgical treatments every year.
