Should You Have A Brow Lift?

by on September 24, 2018 | Posted in blog, services

One of our most popular treatments is the brow lift, and it seems to have really become popular in recent months. This is probably due to the fact that a lot of the beauty looks that are popular at the moment focus on the brow area – and if you have wrinkles here then this can really let you down.

The brow lift is sometimes known as eyebrow repositioning, will not only help with wrinkles in the eyebrow area but it can also offer you the opportunity to subtly change your eyebrow shape too – if you so desire.

How does a brow lift work?

Whenever you have a treatment that involves Botox you should know that Botox works by paralysing the muscles it is injected into. Wherever you have muscles on your face, there is a balancing act between them pushing and pulling – in the eye area the forehead muscles push the brows upwards and the frown and eye muscles pull the brows down. During a brow lift Alderley edge the Botox is injected into certain points on the brow to weaken specific points so that the brow lifts or drops in the area that we want it to.

How accurate are Botox brow lifts?

Before we start injecting you with anything, we will take a close look at your face and determine the exact points on your brow that we need to inject the Botox into, and how much Botox we need to use depends on how strong your brow muscles are. We will then make sure that any Botox we do inject helps to soften your look in a natural way.

How long do Botox brow injections last?

It depends on the individual but most Botox injections tend to last between three to six months.

Are there any side effects?

As with any cosmetic procedure, there are always potential side effects with the most common being a harsh unnatural end look caused by incorrect dosage of Botox used, or it is injected into the wrong places. Of course, things like this don’t happen at Cheadle Facial Aesthetics as we are highly trained professionals with years of experience.

What Does A Brow Lift Hale Involve?

by on September 10, 2018 | Posted in blog, services

Our Botox brow lift hale is one of our most popular treatments, but what does it involve and what should you expect from the procedure?

What is a Botox brow lift?

Our Botox brow lift procedure is a procedure which is popular for treating the frown lines that can appear between our brows as we get older. It can also help to elevate the height of your eyebrows too by relaxing the muscles between the brows. This relaxation of the forehead muscles allows them to pull up the brow muscles, which in turn lifts your brows to a higher level and opens up your eyes.

You can also opt to have additional Botox injections at the end of your eyebrows in order to smooth out any deep lines in this area, without the need for invasive plastic surgery.

Botox brow lifts are growing in popularity as they are a great way to soften some of the signs of ageing without having to go through a surgical procedure, such as a traditional brow lift.

Can I have a Botox brow lift?

If you are aged 18 or over then you should be able to have a Botox brow lift Wilmslow especially if you have moderate to severe frown lines that you would like to have softened.  You will need to come in for a free consultation with us first, just so that we can assess any risk factors and make sure that it is safe to undertake the procedure.

What to expect when having a Botox brow lift

Botox brow lifts are a relatively straightforward procedure which should only last a few minutes. The needles we use for Botox injections are very small, and so you should feel very little pain during the procedure.

How long will it take to see my brow lift results?

The recovery from and results of Botox treatments are quite speedy compared to other procedures. You should be able to start seeing results of your brow lift within a week of having the injections, although you may not see a significant difference until about a month afterward.

Your Botox treatment should last up to four months before you need to have a top-up, but some people can go as long as six months before they need another injection. You need to commit to regular top-ups in order to prevent the wrinkles from re-appearing again.

The Different Types of Brow Lifts

by on March 19, 2018 | Posted in blog

Aging can dramatically reduce your confidence. However, getting a brow lift in Alderley Edge with our team of professionals can boost your confidence. If you’re thinking about getting a brow lift in Manchester or Alderley Edge, the first question you have to answer is which type of brow lift do you want?

You want to look great for as long as you can, and a simple surgery like a brow lift can improve your appearance by leaps and bounds. It can reduce the signs of aging that creep up on your forehead and eyebrows. Depending on where your signs of aging are, a different procedure might be necessary.

Let’s look at what your options are.

Traditional

A traditional brow lift surgery is basic and involves making a long incision on the top of your head just under your hairline. After the incision is made, the surgeon lifts the skin away and maneuvers the muscles and fat underneath your skin.

Sometimes this requires the surgeon to trim extra muscle and fat, and sometimes even skin to create a smoother appearance in the brow of your face. Once this process is complete, your surgeon will close the incision.

In most cases, a traditional brow lift is recommended for individuals who are more advanced in the aging process.  If your brows sag over your eyes it’s time for a traditional brow lift.

Limited

If you have minimal signs of aging, then a limited incision might be a better option. While it is similar to the previously mentioned traditional brow lift, the limited version a surgeon will use two smaller incisions instead of one across the top. The incisions are typically on or near the temples. Once they make the incisions they’ll do the same by removing extra fat and skin via the incisions.

However, because the incisions are smaller, your surgeon will tend to work longer to get the same result. It also might not be right for you if you have quite a bit of looseness under the brow area of your face.

The procedure is really only used for sagging on the ends of your brows and doesn’t ease lines or wrinkles on the center of your forehead. Men and older individuals typically request this type of procedure to avoid incision lines they have to cover up.

Endoscopic Surgery

Similar to the limited incision lift, the incisions are made incredibly small and heal without any serious scaring. The procedure involves using an endoscope (AKA a tiny camera) guides the surgeon to the area where the surgery needs to happen.

Once the surgery starts the surgeon accesses a small tool kit that she uses to smooth your brow. The skin is never lifted, which allows the tissues to hold their position. The scope is removed from the fat and skin are removed and then the incisions are closed.

Clearly, this is a minimally invasive brow lift option. However, there is one caveat, the results of this type of brow lift are not permanent. They also don’t produce the most amazing results either.

Injectables

Another option if you’re looking for a brow lift in Manchester is injectables. Of course, choosing this option would be dependent on what your forehead looks like now. If you have a few simple lines on your brow, then you might not need a surgery. Instead, injectables like Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport could be a better option for you.

These injectables use ingredients that keep your nerves from communicating with the muscles that create frown lines on your forehead, which creates a smoother appearance. In contrast with surgery, the injectables don’t last as long. Most often they only last a few months. So keep that in mind as well.

Facing Recovery

The different brow lift options available to you produce different results. Depending on the complexity of your surgery, one might be better than the next. Speaking to your surgeon is the best way to figure out which one is right for you. However, keep in mind the recovery. You’ll be advised to keep a cold compress on your skin, and you’ll also want to prop yourself up in bed while you sleep.

If you’re considering getting a brow lift in Manchester, then give us a call. We’ve spent years providing surgery for local residents, and we can walk you through the process so you can choose the right surgical option.

by on February 19, 2018 | Posted in blog

Are you thinking about getting a brow lift in Wilmslow? As a go-to team for facial aesthetics for many patients throughout the area, we strive to provide the best treatment possible. But we do recognise the importance of educating yourself before making any serious decision regarding your appearance.

To understand your experience with a brow lift more clearly, consider the following information.

What Is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift is designed to reduce wrinkle lines across your forehead and those that pop up around the bridge of the nose and in between the eyes. These difficult to hide wrinkles are often the first ones to start showing their ugly head as we age.

Sometimes frown lines, which develop between the eyebrows, are also a problem as we being to age and can be reversed by a brow lift. Sagging brows that cause hooding on your upper eyelids can also be removed by a simple brow lift.

When you receive your brow lift in Stockport, other procedures that can accompany them include a facelift, skin resurfacing procedures, and upper or lower eyelid surgery. Doing all these at the same time reduces the pain and post-op complications that could arise.

Browlifts are a great way to improve frown lines and give your appearance a youthful and alert look once again.

Who is a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?

If you want to get a brow lift in Hale, then you want to think about whether or not you’re a good candidate.

The NHS has basic criteria listed to consider before you have any type of plastic surgery, and brow lifts fall into that category.

However, in general, you should meet the following:

  • Be a non-smoker
  • Be physically healthy
  • Understand and have realistic expectations for your surgery

The reality is, that as we age our skin forms wrinkles that make us uncomfortable with ourselves. This lowers our confidence and prevents us from aging gracefully. Brow lifts, however, are one of the most common cosmetic surgeries in the UK. If you’re ready to transform your appearance and meet these general criteria, then you might just be a good candidate for a brow lift in Wilmslow.

What to Expect After Surgery

After your surgery, your forehead is likely to be taped and your head may be loosely wrapped to reduce swelling and bruising post-op. Most cases require a thin tube to be placed under your skin to drain any excess blood or fluid that could build up.

Your surgeon will give you a list of instructions to follow to keep yourself healthy and reduce the risk of infection. These instructions include:

  • How to take care of your surgical scars
  • What medications to take or apply to your skin
  • Type of things to keep an eye on if your health starts to decline
  • What time you should follow up with your surgeons
  • How to elevate your head and what type of physical activity is out of the question

You’ll also want to ask your surgeon questions before you head into surgery. Questions like, what type of medication will I be taking for pain etc.? Do I have to dress my bandages and if so, how should I do that? When can I expect my bandages to be removed? What is the timeline for me to return to normal daily activity? How long will it take to properly recover from the surgery? When will I need to follow up with appointments?

For most surgeries, you can expect healing to take from 10 to 14 days. Your clips and sutures will be removed when the time is right. But typically look for about 2 weeks to be your starting point back to regular life.

However, by using could take a bit longer to heal, depending on your unique body. Overall, it could take several months to experience a complete recovery from your surgery. The best thing you can do is follow your doctor’s instructions as closely as possible to speed up the recovery process. When you choose us for your brow lift in Stockport, we give you thorough instructions to follow.

Brow Lift Results

At the end of the day, your brow lift in Hale will give you the results you’re looking for. As time passes, your post-surgical bruising, incisions, and swelling will fade completely. You will enjoy a more youthful appearance and the wrinkles on your forehead will be gone for good.

There is no right or wrong time to go about getting a brow lift. Keep this information in mind as you go about getting a brow lift from our team or any other.

A Beginners Guide to Facial Aesthetics

by on July 17, 2017 | Posted in blog

From Botox treatment to dermal fillers and brow lifts, facial aesthetics come in a wide variety.

Whether you’re interested in looking your best for an upcoming job interview or a potential romantic relationship, facial aesthetics can be the answer.

If you’re new to the world of facial aesthetics you likely have tons of questions too.

Down below we’ve outlined the basics of these treatments and the benefits you can expect from them.

Top Treatments

While each year brings with it new facial aesthetic treatments, some remain ever popular. These include the following.

Botox Treatment

Botox has been around since 1987 and is used to treat a wide variety of aging and facial deformities. Doctors use it to relax facial and neck muscles to get rid of signs of aging. It is also used to tighten and lift facial muscles for a more youthful look.

According to the Daily Mail, over 1 million botox injections occur each year. Proven to be safe and effective for a wide variety of treatments, botox treatment is not only safe but also incredibly popular.

Depending on your unique circumstances, health, and desired effect Botox treatment may be the right treatment for you. Speak with one of our facial aesthetics experts to learn more.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are used to reduce fine lines on the face and to bring back volume and fullness. Thanks to the natural aging process, our faces lose subcutaneous fat. This causes our facial muscles to lie closer to the skin’s surface, causing crow’s feet and smile lines to appear.

On top of this, our skin stretches, causing an even greater loss of facial volume. Our lifestyle, sun exposure, and genes also contribute to a loss of facial skin tightness.

The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.

Put simply, dermal fillers breathe life back to our skin. Dermal fillers can be used to plump your lips, reduce the appearance of scars, soften facial creases and wrinkles, and decrease or remove the shadow over the lower lids. It’s also a great tool to use to fight off the first signs of aging and is a great addition to any rejuvenation surgery.

Brow Lift

Countless people get a brow lift each year. Also called a forehead lift, brow lifts are designed to reduce wrinkles that exist horizontally across the forehead. Some wrinkles that exist between the eyes and the bridge of the nose can also be reduced with a brow lift.

Whether you want to improve frown lines, creases in between your eyebrows, or provide a more alert youthful look across your forehead and eyes, brow lifts are a good solution.

Often times, brow lifts complement cosmetic procedures like facelifts, lower eyelid surgery, or skin resurfacing.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing uses two lasers such as the carbon dioxide and erbium, to erase issues on the surface of your skin.

This treatment can reverse wrinkles, scars, acne scars, warts, and enlarged oil glands. It does take up to two weeks to recover from the treatment, but the results typically last around 6 months.

Chemical peels

Another popular facial treatment is chemical peels. It is one of the least invasive ways to repair your skin.

It works by dabbing a chemical solution to the surface of your skin causing it to shed. This then triggers the skin’s natural regeneration process and new skin cells are formed. It typically treats conditions like rosacea, acne, melasma and more.

This treatment isn’t always best for sensitive skin, but it can provide fairly quick results such as smoother, clearer skin.

What Conditions Can Be Treated?

Facial aesthetic treatments are designed for a variety of conditions. Some of the most commonly treated are:

  • – Acne
  • – Wrinkles
  • – Veins
  • – Brown Spots
  • – Sun damage
  • – Dehydrated skin
  • – Excess hair
  • – Dull surface layer
  • – And much more

Whether you decide to get a botox treatment or dermal fillers, or a brow lift, there are countless options that will fit your unique situation.

The first step towards getting high-quality results in it to ensure that you know what your options are. The best way to do that is to see a professional in person. Each treatment is different and may require a specialist.

The vast majority of people who opt for facial aesthetic treatment choose dermal fillers or botox treatment, but there is another lesser known procedure known as a brow lift. So what exactly is it and how can it enhance an appearance? Let’s take a closer look….

As the ageing process takes hold some people may experience mild to moderate sagging in the brow area. This can make them appear older than their years. One suggestion may be a surgical cosmetic procedure that lifts the brow back into position. As you can imagine this is pretty invasive stuff and costly to boot. So what if you don’t want to go under the knife? What are your options? You might want to consider a non-surgical eyebrow lift using botox treatment.

What's A Brow Lift And How Does It Enhance An Appearance 2So how does it enhance the appearance?

Carefully controlled amounts of Botox are skilfully injected into the area that contains the muscles that depress the brow. This causes the muscles to rest and relax when the brow is in a lifted position.  As well as lifting the brow horizontally, skilled practitioners can also lift the tail end of the brow by injecting into the crow’s feet area to the side of the eye, creating an attractive raised arch. The type of treatment carried out depends upon the facial aesthetic requirements of the patient, but primarily the idea is to enhance the framework around the eyes. In addition dermal fillers can also be used in conjunction with a non-surgical brow lift to fill out those deep ingrained wrinkles that occur as we age. Together they can be used to create an impressive youthful look.

Who is a brow lift for?

Botox treatment for brow lifting is used on men and women of all ages and skin types. It can help those people who experience mild brow hooding as well as those with naturally droopy or low-hanging eyelids, in order to achieve that perfect youthful look. The advantages of a non-surgical brow lift are obvious. It’s non-evasive (unlike a surgical full brow lift), it costs a fraction of what the equivalent surgical procedure would cost, and there’s zero recovery/down time, so patients can go about their daily business right away. Provided that patients choose their cosmetic specialist with care, it really is a win/win situation. Not only does the patient get the look they want, they appear more confident because of it.

If you’re concerned about your ageing appearance and are considering botox treatment, dermal fillers, or a brow lift, then come and speak to Dr Shi Karim and the team. Botulinum Toxin has been approved for use in the UK since 2002 and is safe to use; so why not book a consultation and get all your questions and concerns answered, allowing you to make a fully informed decision.

BROW LIFT MANCHESTER

by on August 25, 2016 | Posted in services

As we age we may experience a mild to moderate heaviness in the brow area. This causes sagging eye brows. One answer of course is cosmetic surgery in the form of a brow lift, but what if you don’t want to undergo such an invasive procedure? You might want to consider an eyebrow lift using Botox. Also known as the ‘brow arch’ procedure, carefully placed injections cause the brow to elevate, improving the positioning of the eyebrows and enhancing the eyes.

So how does a brow lift in Manchester work?

brow lift manchester

Carefully controlled amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into the muscles above the eye area that pull the brows down. When this happens it relaxes them. As it does so the function of the opposing muscle which pulls the brows up is enhanced, thus naturally lifting the brows. In addition the botulinum toxin can also smooth away deep frown lines located in the forehead area giving an all-round younger, rejuvenated appearance. The treatment is far less invasive than cosmetic brow lift surgery, and brow lift cost using Botox is ultimately cheaper. In essence it’s an instant, cost effective solution for those looking to keep the signs of ageing at bay.

Is botulinum toxin safe?

Botulinum toxin is derived from a protein found naturally in the environment. When injected into the skin it has the ability to relax muscles by blocking the nerve impulses to those nerves. As a result it reduces muscle activity that causes facial movement lines and wrinkles. The cosmetic effects of botulinum toxin were first documented in 1989 and by 2002 it was approved for use in the UK. Now it’s regularly and safely used in millions of non-surgical treatments every year.

Botox brow lift treatment is used regularly on men and women of all skin types to achieve that perfect look. It can help those with naturally drooping or low-hanging eyelids and those who experience mild brow hooding. In addition the treatment is also suitable for those who simply feel that they would benefit aesthetically from a non-surgical eyebrow lift. The process is one of many that are proven to reverse the signs of ageing. As a result many patients say that they not only look and feel younger, but are more confident because of it.
