Guide to Facial Aesthetics Manchester

by on May 14, 2018 | Posted in blog

As we start to get older, we can often see changes in our skin tone and smoothness – although these changes can also be caused by the environment and other lifestyle factors. It may be that when we look at ourselves in the mirror that we are unhappy with what we see happening to our faces, and this is where facial aesthetics Manchester comes in. Facial Aesthetics is the name given to non-surgical treatments that are used to define certain facial features (such as lips and brows) and soften others (such as fine lines and wrinkles). But what do these treatments involve?

Botox Injections

One of our most popular facial treatments is botox Cheadle. Botox (or Botulinum toxin) is an injection that is often used to relax facial muscles and so it can make crow’s feet and frown lines much less obvious. You don’t need any anesthetic for this treatment, all that happens is your skin is cleaned and then we inject the Botox into the areas of your face that you want to be treated – usually through a course of small injections in various points on the face over the course of a few minutes. You won’t see a difference straight away, it usually takes around 3 to 5 days for the injections to take effect, and sometimes it can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effect. Botox injections tend to last about 4 to 6 months, and then you will just need to have regular follow up injections in order to maintain the look you desire

Dermal Fillers

A facial treatment that can be used in conjunction with Botox, dermal fillers are injections that are also used to fill out creases and wrinkles in the skin. They are also often used to increase the definition of and volume in areas such as cheeks and lips. There are lots of different types of fillers available, and the effects of them can last up to 2 years if done correctly.

Brow Lift

Again, as we get older we may start to suffer from a slight sag in the eyebrow area, which can make the eyes look dark and deep set. The brow lift service that we offer is a non-surgical alternative to the more traditional brow lift and involves a series of injections being placed into the muscles above the eye area that control the brow. This tends to naturally lift the brow, with the added benefit of smoothing away any small lines and wrinkles as well.

Lip Enhancement

The lips are one of the most integral parts of facial beauty, and so it should come as no surprise that many ladies want plumper lips. Our non-surgical lip-plumping treatments aim to give both definition and volume to thinner lips and can really give ladies (or gentlemen) much greater confidence in how they look.

A Beginners Guide to Facial Aesthetics

by on July 17, 2017 | Posted in blog

From Botox treatment to dermal fillers and brow lifts, facial aesthetics come in a wide variety.

Whether you’re interested in looking your best for an upcoming job interview or a potential romantic relationship, facial aesthetics can be the answer.

If you’re new to the world of facial aesthetics you likely have tons of questions too.

Down below we’ve outlined the basics of these treatments and the benefits you can expect from them.

Top Treatments

While each year brings with it new facial aesthetic treatments, some remain ever popular. These include the following.

Botox Treatment

Botox has been around since 1987 and is used to treat a wide variety of aging and facial deformities. Doctors use it to relax facial and neck muscles to get rid of signs of aging. It is also used to tighten and lift facial muscles for a more youthful look.

According to the Daily Mail, over 1 million botox injections occur each year. Proven to be safe and effective for a wide variety of treatments, botox treatment is not only safe but also incredibly popular.

Depending on your unique circumstances, health, and desired effect Botox treatment may be the right treatment for you. Speak with one of our facial aesthetics experts to learn more.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are used to reduce fine lines on the face and to bring back volume and fullness. Thanks to the natural aging process, our faces lose subcutaneous fat. This causes our facial muscles to lie closer to the skin’s surface, causing crow’s feet and smile lines to appear.

On top of this, our skin stretches, causing an even greater loss of facial volume. Our lifestyle, sun exposure, and genes also contribute to a loss of facial skin tightness.

The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.

Put simply, dermal fillers breathe life back to our skin. Dermal fillers can be used to plump your lips, reduce the appearance of scars, soften facial creases and wrinkles, and decrease or remove the shadow over the lower lids. It’s also a great tool to use to fight off the first signs of aging and is a great addition to any rejuvenation surgery.

Brow Lift

Countless people get a brow lift each year. Also called a forehead lift, brow lifts are designed to reduce wrinkles that exist horizontally across the forehead. Some wrinkles that exist between the eyes and the bridge of the nose can also be reduced with a brow lift.

Whether you want to improve frown lines, creases in between your eyebrows, or provide a more alert youthful look across your forehead and eyes, brow lifts are a good solution.

Often times, brow lifts complement cosmetic procedures like facelifts, lower eyelid surgery, or skin resurfacing.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing uses two lasers such as the carbon dioxide and erbium, to erase issues on the surface of your skin.

This treatment can reverse wrinkles, scars, acne scars, warts, and enlarged oil glands. It does take up to two weeks to recover from the treatment, but the results typically last around 6 months.

Chemical peels

Another popular facial treatment is chemical peels. It is one of the least invasive ways to repair your skin.

It works by dabbing a chemical solution to the surface of your skin causing it to shed. This then triggers the skin’s natural regeneration process and new skin cells are formed. It typically treats conditions like rosacea, acne, melasma and more.

This treatment isn’t always best for sensitive skin, but it can provide fairly quick results such as smoother, clearer skin.

What Conditions Can Be Treated?

Facial aesthetic treatments are designed for a variety of conditions. Some of the most commonly treated are:

  • – Acne
  • – Wrinkles
  • – Veins
  • – Brown Spots
  • – Sun damage
  • – Dehydrated skin
  • – Excess hair
  • – Dull surface layer
  • – And much more

Whether you decide to get a botox treatment or dermal fillers, or a brow lift, there are countless options that will fit your unique situation.

The first step towards getting high-quality results in it to ensure that you know what your options are. The best way to do that is to see a professional in person. Each treatment is different and may require a specialist.

Facial aesthetics are a revolutionary part of the beauty industry. More than just beauty treatments, facial aesthetics can reverse skin damage and help repair scars. If you’re more into the beauty aspects of what they can do for you, then you’ll love today’s post.

At Cheadle Facial Aesthetics, we’re passionate about helping folks get the beauty care they’re looking for. We offer a wide range of services including Dermal Fillers and Botox in Manchester.

Curious about what happens when you sign up for one of these treatments? Then come with us as we explore each of our two most popular services and what you can expect.

Botox

Botox treatment involves a substance called Clostridium Botulinum. It is found throughout nature, and when even tiny amounts are injected into the skin with a fine needle the nerve cell signals are prevented from reaching the muscles. As a result, the muscles are unable to tense up, causing an instant relaxation effect.

While much has been written about Botox, it’s actually one of the safest Facial Aesthetics treatments available. Still not convinced? Then check out these peer-reviewed studies about the substance and its safety.

As with any medical treatment, there is some risk involved, but if you’ve been given the all clear from your doctor the treatment should be just fine.

What It Can Treat

Botox can treat a variety of issues. Some of the most common include:

  • – Wrinkles and Fine Lines
  • – Chronic Pain
  • – Sweating
  • – Overactive Bladder
  • – Migraines
  • – Eye Treatments

In our clinic, clients typically are looking to reduce the signs of aging such as wrinkles. We administer botox regularly to such clients.

What to Expect From Your Treatment

Botox injections are fairly pain-free, with a slight stinging of the needle. The procedure is out-patient, and the downtime is minimal. There may be some swelling at the site of your injection, but if the swelling doesn’t go down within 2 weeks you should come in to see us or your practitioner.

How Long Results Last

How long each treatment lasts varies from person to person. For first time patients, results typically last up to three months but can last longer. You’ll need to come back in to see us once you notice the treatment is wearing off.

Overall, Botox is one of our most prized treatments and can be used in various parts of your body. No matter where you experience wrinkles, fine lines, crow’s feet, or frown lines Botox can reverse the effects and give you a youthful appearance.

Dermal Fillers

Are you thinking about using Dermal Fillers to reverse the signs of aging? If so, you’re in good company. We offer the highest quality dermal fillers in Manchester all of which are designed to make your skin and appearance more youthful.

Dermal Fillers contain various ingredients, but most are hyaluronic acid based. This ingredient is naturally occurring and is a sugar chain molecule that binds water in the skin, creating a plumper, more attractive look.

What They Treat

Dermal Fillers are typically used to create a more youthful appearance, but here is the full range of uses for injectables.

  • – Fine Lines
  • – Frown Lines
  • – Lip Enhancement
  • – Recessed Scar treatment

What to Expect From Treatment

Dermal Filler injections are done in the office and are non-surgical. You’ll meet with one of our facial aesthetics experts to discuss your treatment first. Once the treatment is agreed upon with your doctor, the next step is cleaning the area and adding a topical numbing solution to prevent any pain from the process. Then the practitioner will inject the filler to the exact area where the filler is needed. The filler will go under the skin and fill up the surrounding area, creating a fuller look and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

You may experience some light bruising and swelling at the site of the injection, but you should be able to go right back to your normal activities after your treatment. These injections and Dermal fillers in Manchester are extremely convenient and produce long-lasting results. Speaking of which…

How Long Results Last

Results typically last from 6 to 18 months. Which is obviously much longer than Botox. Many patients prefer Dermal Fillers to Botox in Manchester for this exact reason.

If you’re in need of facial aesthetics enhancement, particularly dermal fillers, Manchester-based Church Road dental has it covered. We offer a wide range of treatment including lip augmentation, brow lifts, and wrinkle reduction using Botox. Manchester patients can rest assured that when they choose us, they’re in safe and secure hands. As dermal fillers are one of the most popular treatments, it’s worth taking a closer look at what they are and how they work. So without further ado, let’s dive straight in…

Dermal Fillers Manchester – What Are They And How Do They Work 2

First of all, what exactly are they?

Dermal fillers are a harmless synthetic or naturally-derived material that is injected directly under the surface of the skin. Their purpose is to plump up the area sufficiently so that the depression, wrinkle, or fold disappears. It can be used on the lips to create a more defined and voluptuous mouth, or on the cheeks to define a better shape. It can also be used to even out indented scars caused by acne or chicken pox, or to fill out depressions under the eye area. Effects generally last anywhere between 6 months and 2 years depending upon the type of filler. However some modern permanent fillers can now last 5 years and some even more than that.

Dermal fillers shouldn’t be confused with Botox. Manchester patients for example may need both Botox and dermal fillers to enhance their facial aesthetics. So what’s the difference? Unlike dermal fillers Botox relaxes the muscles to prevent certain movements that result in wrinkles. Primarily Botox is used on the so called movement lines which are noticeable when we create an expression. These include areas around the forehead and eyes. Alternatively dermal fillers are used to plump up or fill static creases and crevices that are ever present. When used in conjunction with one another, the combination can produce a remarkably youthful look.

Naturally-derived vs synthetic fillers

There are two primary types of dermal fillers in Manchester. Those which contain hyaluronic acid and those which contain synthetic fillers. HA (a type of carbohydrate) is found naturally in the body and is used to hydrate your eyes and lubricate joints to prevent frictional force. When injected under the skin it plumps up the area. Because HA dermal fillers are natural they propose far less risk of an allergic reaction. However on the down side they tend to break down after 6-18 months and the area needs to be redone.

Conversely synthetic fillers are usually made in a laboratory and because they can’t dissipate, they can last for many years. That said because they’re permanent, any problems associated with them, no matter how rare, might also be permanent and far harder to correct.

In the right hands dermal fillers Manchester used in conjunction with Botox Manchester are a fast and efficient way to achieve great facial aesthetics. To find out more, talk to Dr Shi Karim and the team at Cheadle Facial Aesthetics and take the first steps towards a youthful look.
